School members of OMA may post classified ads for no charge by emailing the ad to us. Individual members may also run classified ads for themselves at no charge, but ads on behalf of non-member schools will be charged the fee for advertising.

Non-members may email us an ad and we will post it for a fee of $50. Ads are kept for 2 months. We ask that all ads be related to employment at Montessori schools, the selling or purchasing of Montessori materials, or other matters of general professional interest to our membership. Vancouver Montessori School Seeks a Toddler Community Classroom Assistant

Vancouver Montessori School has two Toddler Community Classrooms and three Children’s House Classrooms. Our well-established AMI Toddler Communities operate year-round with a maximum of 14 toddlers (ages 1-3) with one AMI trained Teacher and two Assistants. Each adult’s purposeful focus is on assisting and nurturing the children’s developmental needs and desire for functional independence. Assistants support the work of the teacher and follow her guidance for overall classroom tone, management, expectations and limits. Collaboratively, all adults interact with the children, assist them with their work/activities, bathroom and toileting needs, social and emotional awareness/graces, self-care, first aid, food preparation and clean up, general classroom tidying, support of the environment, etc. Assistants may be asked to work in the Children’s House classrooms to give staff breaks or fill in as needed or perform other duties to support the school in general when student numbers are lower in Toddler Community.

Successful applicant will have natural desire to work with toddlers, be able to adapt to changing needs of children and classroom dynamics, be patient and gentle while being consistent and firm when appropriate, work collaboratively while offering initiative, and be willing to understand children and their needs from a non-traditional viewpoint in the absence of Montessori training or study. Reliability and punctuality is imperative.

Portland Montessori Collaborative, a Montessori preschool in SW Portland, seeks a creative, flexible and grounded person to be an assistant in our beautiful Infant Community.

Portland Montessori Collaborative, or pdxMC, is deeply committed to environmental sustainability and we integrate conservation into our curriculum and practice. Ours is an all day Montessori program serving children three months through six years. We encourage our staff to be open to changes within themselves, to learn daily and to be their authentic selves with the children. We view our role of teachers as a collaboration between adults and other adults and the adults and the children. We understand that learning happens all the time, and from every adult in the community. Adults who have a deep respect for the amazing capabilities of infants and who are awed and humbled by the human journey from infancy to walking are good candidates for this position. A minimum of 15 hours of professional development is required annually.

Southeast Portland Montessori Program Seeking Infant Assistant for September 2014

We are a small home based Infant Toddler Montessori program in Southeast Portland soon to grow out into a center. We are a eco-conscious, non-denominational school interested in creating a better world through supporting children and families.

We are seeking a part time to full time (20-40hrs per week) infant assistant to care for and work with one or two infants in the Montessori way (we will train you).

While you do not need to be experienced in Montessori, you need to be open to be trained to work in the Montessori method and experienced with children under the age of 1. You need to be organized, detail-oriented, a self-starter, and love to work with infants!

A beach town in the truest sense of the word.”  We are a Beach Town on the spectacular Northwest Washington Coast in Pacific Beach WA .  In 2012 we inaugurated Seabrook Montessori School and welcomed our first class of elementary students, grades 1-5.  We are now searching for a dynamic Head Teacher for our Elementary Montessori classroom for Fall 2014.  We anticipate a class of 8-10 students in grades 1-8.  The current Assistant Teacher/Music and Art Teacher, who has been with the school from the beginning, will remain and provide continuity.  The Montessori classroom is very well equipped in a lovely cottage in Seabrook, complete with a garden and covered front porch, ideal for working on projects or quiet reading time . Forrest Heights International Montessori School Seeks Primary Guide

Forrest Heights International Montessori School is seeking an AMI-trained Primary Guide. The guide has to have great classroom management skills, be able to communicate with parents effectively, multi-task, and has to take initiative and participate in all sorts of marketing activities during spare time. Cascadia School Seeks a Montessori Elementary Guide

Cascadia School is expanding its elementary program. We are seeking an elementary guide to co-teach in a Lower Elementary classroom starting in August 2014. This full time position will allow guides new to the elementary classroom time to develop class management and leadership skills as well as gain more experience giving lessons. For more experienced guides, this is a chance to share the work load with another guide and delve deeper into a specific area of the elementary classroom. Materials for Sale

Sellwood Montessori has some Montessori materials that we are no longer using and want to sell. Some of the materials are missing pieces or are random extras for which we have no use. We’d love to sell everything as a set, but are willing to split them up if need be. Please email if interested in pictures. Here’s what we have:

Childpeace Montessori School, founded in 1976, offers Toddler Community, Children’s House, Elementary, and Adolescent programs.  This position is an assistant Elementary Guide role in an established community of students ages 9-12. The Assistant Guide works with the Lead Guide to support a large Upper Elementary community of 37 students by giving lessons, supporting follow-up, offering individual student support, record keeping and helping with classroom management, administration and communication with the parent group. This is a salaried position based on a 7/hour day though some additional time will be needed for parent education, camping trips, or enrollment events.
