CLASSIFIED ADS

School members of OMA may post classified ads for no charge by emailing the ad to us. Individual members may also run classified ads for themselves at no charge, but ads on behalf of non-member schools will be charged the fee for advertising.

Non-members may email us an ad and we will post it for a fee of $50. Ads are kept for 2 months. We ask that all ads be related to employment at Montessori schools, the selling or purchasing of Montessori materials, or other matters of general professional interest to our membership. We reserve the right to remove any ads that do not fall within these guidelines.

The Toddler Aftercare Assistant works with a Montessori head teacher to care for and engage children in the afternoon program from 3 to 6 p.m. The Aftercare Assistant also helps maintain the aftercare environment. Our ideal candidate has a background working with toddlers, ability and interest in supporting a range of engaging afternoon activities, an eye for detail, and a positive team spirit. Some additional work hours may be available substituting during the school day. The wage range for this position begins at $13.50/hour and is dependent on experience and training.

All positions require a Criminal Background Registry, attendance at a Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN) class, certification in CPR and First Aid, and listing in the Oregon Registry within 90 days of the date of hire. PART TIME NANNY

Looking for a Part Time Nanny, Monday-Fridays, from 2:45 ish – 5pm.
If you need more hours, we are flexible and you can start earlier if you prefer.

We have a daughter who is 5 1/2 years old and she loves her nannies! Our wonderful nanny is leaving soon and we are hoping to find someone who can provide the same love, guidance, and care.

She would need to be picked up at 3pm from school, and our home is very close (a few minutes drive). We have a car for you to use for pickup from school. Our home is in the West Sylvan area, right off of Hwy 26, near Providence Hospital. We would like to start as soon as you are available.

Cascadia School Seeks Lower Elementary Assistant

Cascadia School is expanding its elementary program. We are seeking a Lower Elementary Assistant (1st-3rd grade) starting in August 2015. This full time position is based on a 40 hour work week. The classroom assistant’s role is to support the Guide by supporting the students, organizational tasks, maintaining classroom environment, playground supervision and general duties related to the classroom community.

Classroom Aftercare Assistant & Substitute

Child’s View Montessori School is looking for a nurturing, respectful, creative and dependable assistant care provider to join our year-round community. A sense of humor, observant eye, and keen listener are essential.  This position is currently part time and requires a flexible demeanor and willingness to be “on-call” within mutually agreed schedule times. We are looking for an individual who can work from 2:45-6pm daily with the ability to add additional hours on to substitute during staff illness and vacations; please note this position has a potential to expand in 2016.

Qualified candidates should have some experience working with children between the ages of 12 months through 9 years. Typically our program offers “school-year” substitutes a minimum of approximately 575hrs during 10months that excludes full-time summer employment. With our current program expansion, we foresee this being more. In the past, this position has worked well for adults attending college or post-graduate studies.

If you have strong communications skills, love to work collaboratively with adults and children, desire a flexible schedule and want to be a part of an enriching Montessori program, then this may be a great position for you!

It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of my school, Lily Garden Montessori, after 9 years. But my loss could be your gain. Montessori House of St. Johns seeks Spanish speaking assistant

The Montessori House of St Johns is a strong, supportive, and vibrant community that serves families with children walking through 6 years of age. We have created nurturing communities for the holistic development of toddlers and preschoolers.

We are now interviewing for a Spanish speaking assistant to work 30 hours a week (8:00-2:00 M-F) in our toddler environment. The assistant would speak exclusively in Spanish to the children. Portland Montessori Collaborative Seeks Classroom Assistant

Portland Montessori Collaborative seeks a creative, flexible and grounded person to be a floating infant/preschool classroom assistant for our school. We are a Montessori school for children ages three months through six years of age. Applicants without qualifying experience working with children under six will not be considered.

This is a part time position (with opportunities for more hours as a sub) to start late August.  This position involves working with infants and preschoolers and with many adults, cleaning, gardening, and assisting children with mealtimes, bathroom, and sleep.  This position requires an ability to be outside in any weather. Montessori experience not necessary, however a respect for children and what they can teach you is a requirement. A sense of humor is non-negotiable.

Before starting this position, you must be enrolled in Central Background Registry, have a current Food Handler Card, be current in Infant/Child First Aid/CPR, and have taken RCAAN. You must have a step 4 or higher on the Oregon Registry.

We encourage our staff to be open to changes within themselves, to learn daily and to be their authentic selves with the children. We view the role of teacher as a guide or collaborator with the children, the environment, and the other adults. The Earth Tortoise School is Seeking an Infant Guide

The Earth Tortoise School is a small infant and toddler Montessori program in East Portland. We are looking for a guide to work with our four infants ages 3 to 15 months Monday through Thursday (with the possibility of adding Fridays) from 7:45am to 4:15pm.
