Dedicated AMI Elementary Montessori Guide with Strong Experience Seeking Full-Time Position Starting 2015 School Year

Posted November 7, 2014

I am currently a 6-12 teacher at a vibrant, tight-knit community Montessori school in Northern Virginia.  My family and I are originally from the Pacific Northwest and I would very much like to return to settle in my native environment, closer to all of the extended family we had left behind in 2010 when we left so that I could pursue AMI elementary training in Wisconsin and then graduate work in Maryland.

I am preferably seeking an upper elementary position, but the fit of the school is tantamount, trumping specific school location and position preference. I am looking for a school family that supports positive staff relationships, encourages professional growth and holds steadfast in its commitment to following the child. My current head of school has shown me that all of those aspects are fundamental in a Montessori school. I’m strongly dedicated to both Montessori theory and practice, an unwavering proponent of unstructured play in nature, and believe that Montessori education is perfectly aligned with inclusive classroom practices. I was the third first-year elementary teacher my present class community had had, and it has taken 70 hour weeks to lead them to their current incarnation as a truly engaged and inspired group of children. We Go Out into the community, garden, raise chickens, paint, dissect, bake, sew, practice mindfulness, and fully embrace Cosmic Education. I work very hard to establish trusting relationships with students and their families so that we serve the whole child.

I am able to provide a resume, credentials and excellent references upon request. Please send inquiries to
