School members of OMA may post classified ads for no charge by emailing the ad to us. Individual members may also run classified ads for themselves at no charge, but ads on behalf of non-member schools will be charged the fee for advertising.

Non-members may email us an ad and we will post it for a fee of $50. Ads are kept for 2 months. We ask that all ads be related to employment at Montessori schools, the selling or purchasing of Montessori materials, or other matters of general professional interest to our membership. We reserve the right to remove any ads that do not fall within these guidelines.

Primary Assistant, Childpeace Montessori School

Childpeace Montessori is seeking a classroom assistant to join our Children’s House staff beginning November 30th, 2016. We are looking for candidates who love to be with 3- to 6-year-olds, who would joyfully support the Montessori-trained head teacher in preparing the classroom environment, and would encourage independence, concentration, and positive social skills under her direction.

Portland Montessori Collaborative seeks creative, flexible and grounded person for a full-time (afternoon) Classroom Assistant position in our Infant Community. We are a Montessori school for children ages three months through six years of age. Applicants without qualifying experience working with children under two will not be considered.

This position is to start immediately.  This position involves working with children between three months and six years of age, working with many adults, cleaning, gardening, and assisting children with mealtimes, bathroom, and sleep.  This position requires an ability to be outside for up to 2+ hours a day in any weather.  Montessori experience not necessary, however a respect for children and what they can teach you is a requirement. Center based classroom experience is required. A sense of humor is non-negotiable.

Before starting this position, you must be enrolled in Central Background Registry, have a current Food Handler Card, be current in Infant/Child First Aid/CPR, and have taken RCAAN. You must have a step 7 or higher on the Oregon Registry to be eligible for the top end of the pay scale.

Aftercare Teacher

I am seeking a new staff person to begin part-time as soon as possible; the basic hours will be 8:15 – 12:15 from Monday to Thursday. Do you enjoy working with young children and their families? Would you like to be part of a small, dedicated team of carers? Are you interested in Montessori education and philosophy?

We are a small preschool in Eugene which uses Montessori methods and teaches Christian values to children aged 2 ½ to 6. With low student to teacher ratios and a nurturing environment, we strive to provide the best care for our students’ minds, bodies, and spirits. We are currently hiring part time assistants (30 hrs/week) for the 2016-2017 school year.

As an assistant your duties will include supervision and care of children, supporting the Montessori teacher during work times, and some light housekeeping duties. To be considered for the position we ask that you be registered with the Oregon Central Background Registry, have your 1st aid and food safety certifications, and have completed training in recognizing abuse and neglect. If you do not have these qualifications you must be willing to obtain them as soon as possible (most are 1 day classes). Experience in a Montessori environment is preferred but not required, however you must at least be interested in and willing to learn about the Montessori Method. For those without Montessori qualifications, a 1 day Montessori Assistants training will be required.
