School members of OMA may post classified ads for no charge by emailing the ad to us. Individual members may also run classified ads for themselves at no charge, but ads on behalf of non-member schools will be charged the fee for advertising.

Non-members may email us an ad and we will post it for a fee of $50. Ads are kept for 2 months. PRIMARY ASSISTANT
Childpeace Montessori is seeking a classroom assistant to join our Children’s House, beginning late August 2015. We are looking for candidates who love to be with 3- to 6-year-olds, who would joyfully support the Montessori-trained head teacher in preparing the classroom environment, and would encourage independence, concentration, and positive social skills under her direction. Candidates must have experience working with this age group. Candidates with a 4-year degree and Step 9 or higher in the Oregon Registry are preferred. Portland Montessori Collaborative seeks a creative, flexible and grounded person to be an on-call/substitute for our school. We are a Montessori school for children ages three months through six years. We keep substitutes busy and when we hire to our regular staff give priority to those from our sub pool.

Portland Montessori Collaborative (pdxMC) is deeply committed to environmental sustainability and we integrate conservation into our curriculum and practice. Ours is an all day Montessori program.

We encourage our staff to be open to changes within themselves, to learn daily and to be their authentic selves with the children. We view the role of teacher as a guide or collaborator with the children, the environment, and the other adults. We understand that learning happens all the time, and not just while the children are working with the Montessori materials. We view the role of all the adults in the environment as ‘teacher’.

This is a full time position to start immediately.  This position involves working with children of all ages, working with many adults, cleaning, and gardening as well as assisting children during mealtimes and in the bathroom. This position requires an ability to be outside for 2+ hours a day. Montessori experience not necessary, however a respect for children and what they can teach you is a requirement. A sense of humor is non-negotiable.

SunGarden Montessori School Seeking Siesta and After School Enrichment Guide

SunGarden Montessori in West Linn seeks someone to oversee our Siesta and After School Enrichment program from 11:30am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday beginning in the Fall 2015. The Siesta Guide will work with a small group of our young primary children who are in need of a nap, and benefit from a relaxed home-like environment in the afternoons. You may have heard of Seabrook WA or seen us on King 5 Evening Magazine:  “A place that celebrates both nature and community. Montessori Pre-School Seeks Spanish-English Speaking Infant Guide

We are an expanding Montessori school in Southeast Portland offering high-quality educational programs for children six weeks to six years. We are a eco-conscious, non-denominational school interested in creating a better world through supporting children and families.

We are seeking a part-time to full-time (20 – 40hrs per week) Infant Assistant to care for and work with one to four infants in the Montessori way.

While you do not need to be experienced in Montessori, you need a minimum of two years experience working with infants and be open to be trained to work in the Montessori method.

An applicant interested in doing their Montessori training in the near future would be ideal as we hope to grow our school to offer four infant spaces. Financial help with training a possibility for the right candidate.

Job Opening:  Assistant Upper Elementary Guide

Childpeace Montessori School in beautiful Portland, Oregon seeks an assistant Upper Elementary Guide to begin in August 2015.

Childpeace Montessori School, founded in 1976, offers Toddler Community, Children’s House, Elementary, and Adolescent programs.  This position is an assistant Elementary Guide role in an established community of students ages 9-12.  The Assistant Guide works with the Lead Guide to support a large Upper Elementary community of 37 students by giving lessons, supporting follow-up, offering individual student support, record keeping and helping with classroom management, administration and communication with the parent group.  This is a salaried position based on a 7/hour day though some additional time will be needed for parent education, camp, or enrollment events.

The Portland Montessori School is currently seeking a Part Time Administrative Assistant/Receptionist in the afternoon to provide front desk coverage and administrative support to the school. Other duties include managing incoming calls & visitors, ordering supplies, and maintaining school records.

Must have A.A. Degree, 2 or more years of administrative/secretarial experience and 6 or more months experience with children ages 3-6 in a qualified childcare facility. Strong knowledge of MS Office (including MS Word, Outlook and Excel) and database software desirable. Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with parents, students, staff and the public in a school setting. Experience in a Montessori school preferred. Must be personable, punctual, organized and a team player. Hours are Monday through Friday from 12:30-6pm, includes sick leave and holiday pay.
