OMA’s Spring Workshop in Eugene

Join us in Eugene at Far Horizons Montessori School for OMA’s Spring Workshop on Caring Discipline.  Parent Educator, mother of three, and Elementary ELL Instructor, Sarah Lauer will present this workshop based on JoAnne Nordling’s book “Taking Charge: Caring Discipline That Works at Home and at School.”

The Caring Discipline Workshop will expose participants to practical and useful discipline skills to use everyday in the classroom.  It will cover how to nurture healthy emotional growth in the students, teach ways to avoid power struggles, explore ways in which adults often sabotage their own discipline, help children settle their own disputes, and help us listen for a child’s inner reality.  These techniques support the building of positive relationships with children, and can be easily incorporated into a classroom management program already in place at any school.  Sarah has been offering workshops such as this in the Eugene/Springfield area for the past 20 years.

The book will be available for purchase at the workshop, or you can review it beforehand and come prepared with questions.  Visit Portland Support Center PDX to learn more!

Saturday, April 20th, 9am – 12:30pm.   Registration is open.

3.5 Registry training hours will be awarded.  Light refreshments available at the workshop.

Our thanks to the staff at Far Horizons for hosting this workshop.
